Junior Web Designer - Chupi

We're hiring a Junior Web Designer

Ireland’s leading luxury technology business Chupi are seeking to expand their exceptional team. We are recruiting for a Junior Web Designer to join our eCommerce team.

We are building a world class digital experience for our global customer base. Already brilliant, we aspire to be the best across our ecommerce platform Shopify and our highly engaged social channels and are constantly innovating through the perfect mix of technology and marketing.

We are looking for someone who will support the ongoing development and update of our online store www.chupi.com. Working closely with our tech, digital and marketing teams to implement this role combines the perfect mix of design and development and will require an understanding of both mobile first design and frontend development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with our eCommerce and Tech team to design and build new landing pages, campaign pages and visual assets for our website(s).
  • Maintain site navigation across Shopify, Wordpress and Zendesk.
  • Design, develop, test and deploy these changes to a live Shopify environment.
  • Work closely with our in house SEO experts to ensure best in class SEO implementation of all new content being added to the website.
  • Working with our digital team to design new email templates and campaigns.
  • Designing visual imagery for websites and ensuring that they are in line with the company's branding.
  • Working closely with our Digital Marketing Team to build campaigns for our website.
  • Ability to work within an established structure, multi-task and ensure flawless execution of pages from design to coding and deployment.
  • Troubleshooting bugs and errors on our website to either resolve or escalate to the tech team.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Agency or eCommerce: 2 years.
  • A relevant diploma in a related field.
  • Please include a portfolio of work.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop and other visual design tools.
  • Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of version control using GitHub.
  • Good understanding of content management systems, specifically Shopify and Wordpress.
  • Good understanding of search engine optimisation principles.
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
  • Excellent visual design skills.
  • Creative and open to new ideas.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills.

The Technology

We live and breathe technology, our team are digital natives and work across a number of industry standard platforms. Our website www.chupi.com and our store Atrium use Shopify as our eCommerce and POS platform, that attitude has made us one of the best performing Shopify sites in Europe. Alongside Shopify, our customers enjoy a number of custom built solutions built on AWS powering customer insights, product customisation and innovative CX solutions.

We utilise Slack for intra company communication, Xero for finance, Google Drive for collaboration, Dropbox for content management, Zendesk for customer care, DEAR for cloud based inventory and Notion for project management to ensure as a team we have the best tools at our disposal working across multiple sites to grow and scale an international business.

What next:

This is a full time salaried position (subject to a probationary period) offering a flexible arrangement between working from home and some office based work. The candidate will need to be able to attend meetings, events and company meetups in Dublin city as the role requires. The hours are 9am-5pm GMT, Monday to Friday.

Terms will be discussed with the candidates at the interview stage. You will report directly to the Head of eCommerce.
